How do I restrict what students can and cannot do in conference?

  • You can implement “teacher controls” to restrict what students can do during a conference.  These are dynamic, so you can change them throughout the conference depending on your learning goals.
  1. Want to lecture?  Turn off their sound (but keep public chat open).
  2. Want to keep them focused?  Turn off private chat.
  3. Worried about bandwidth while screen sharing?  Turn off their video sharing

Note: These settings apply only to students who are viewers (which is the default for students).  If you give them presenter or moderator permissions, these “teacher controls” will not apply.
