This article provides some information on how to resolve an error that occurs on a Mac when printing to an HP printer.

To resolve the issue:

In Finder, in the menu at top of the screen, select Go, Computer, Library, Printers, right-click "hp" and rename to "hp.old", then in System Preferences, Printers, remove all HP printers.
